In the second meeting of Academic Writing, we learn about Handwriting and Digital Writing. What I understand about Hand Writing and Digital Writing is, handwriting is writing done by hand with a pen, pencil, or another instrument and digital writing is when writing are done by digital tools.  Online writing refers to any text created with (and usually intended for viewing on) a computer, smartphone, or similar digital device.

The feeling I got when I finished reading this topic as I get more information between handwriting and digital writing there is in the early grades, reading and writing are two interdependent skills. I usually take notes using handwriting because I feel it will be more to remember what I write, but taking notes using digital writing also has its advantages, such as faster and more efficiency, to search for keywords stay in the type and the keyword immediately appears.

What new insights could I get after reading and watching about the topic there was reading research has a long history, though writing research is relatively new. Writing is thought to be additional difficult to accomplish and assess than reading, thus society now knows less about writing than it does about reading (Wengelin & Nilholm, 2013). When assessing the impact of changed writing terms on students' text formation when they write by hand as opposed to using digital resources, there have been contradicting and paradoxical outcomes. According to Muller and Oppenheimer (2014), who conducted a study on university students' writing with several resources in which students were assigned to varied settings and instructions, digital writing costs students' recollections. Muller and Oppenheimer concluded that children recall more when they write by hand and that digital writing can harm students' performance. Digitally writing kids appeared to generate rich content with a wide spectrum of meaningless degradation (for example, a student essay that contains many words, yet lacks substantial content).

What I will do next in dealing with handwriting and digital writing activities is maybe I will start trying to balance handwriting and writing with digital writing, because I feel more often writing using handwriting compared to digital writing and will benefit from both methods.
