English Should be a Second Language in Indonesia

            In the world, people learn a second language for a variety of purposes, including immigration, trade, science, and education. After mastering one's native tongue, learning a second language may be beneficial to one's intellectual activities. Many factors contribute to the successful acquisition of a second language (Alves & Oliveira, 2014; Kalati, 2016). English as a Second Language (ESL) students study English in places other than their families, such as schools. Several students learning English as a second language struggle with appropriately saying words.

            The preceding illustrates the benefits and challenges of learning English as a second language. The aids of learning English as a second language include enhanced language abilities, improved networking skills, improved communications ability, and improved performance in other academic areas. Grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and slang are all barriers to learning English as a second language.
